Therapeutic Massage;
Swedish Massage; With a medium pressure this treatment releases tension, relaxes muscles and calms the nervous system, bringing the body and mind to balance. Swedish Massage has recently been scientifically proven to reduce inflammation and reduce the stress hormone cortisol. Swedish massage also increases circulation, allowing the skin better hydration and delivery of nutrients and oxygen thus enhancing the beauty of the skin.
Classic Swedish massage is offered at Svea which involves tapotement, percussion and vibration as well as the more well known long flowing massage therapy technique, classic or not is based on clients preference.
Deep Tissue Therapy which offers all the benefits of Swedish is available and I often combine it with some warm Himalayan salt massage stones as they also help muscles to release.
another way of releasing muscles is with a technique called Neuromuscular Therapy. This technique involves relaxing muscles by positional release, this technique can be incorporated in the Swedish session or deep tissue session for problem areas of the lower back, gluts and hamstrings and is very effective, I have had several clients previously with unresolved lower back pain and or pain in the hamstrings which resolved with this neuromuscular release I have been trained to do in my continuing education with Thomas Dimauro.
